Joëlle Nortier

In 1997, Joëlle L. Nortier completed her PhD in experimental nephrology from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium.

As a nephrologist (Head of the Dialysis Clinic at Erasme Hospital, President of the Belgian Society of Nephrology) and researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, she aims to develop translational projects in relation with natural and synthetic nephrotoxic agents (in vitro and in vivo models) as well as strategies of renal protection.

She has published more than 100 papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters.

She is currently teaching pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, ULB, Brussels, Belgium. In this matter, she is actively involved in the implementation of patient partnership in the fields of teaching and clinical practice.
